Being a Major League Baseball player is hard. The pitchers are throwing ridiculous pitches, you have a pitch clock to now worry about, and everyone playing the game is just really, really good.
You know what shouldn’t be a hard part about about being a professional baseball player, though? Remembering how many outs there are in an inning.
That, however, appeared to be too difficult for the Tigers’ Javier Báez during Thursday night’s game against Toronto. Báez nonchalantly ran to third base on a fly ball to center and then got doubled up at second after he clearly forgot there was only one out in the inning.
Check this out:

That's not great. And as you saw in the video it led to Báez being pulled from the game by his manager.
MLB fans let him have it:
Imagine being this unaware as a professional in a sport you’ve been playing for years. But this ain’t new for javy https://t.co/6YM1mI6Kei

Always felt so validating as a kid to see pros committing the same stupid mental errors we were. https://t.co/KXwaCILpaV

Best move the Mets have made in years was not signing this guy. It’s a shame they gave a up a stud prospect for him. https://t.co/6OBRetRVpz

Sell the team, send everyone especially Javy to the minors. He’s an embarrassment to Detroit https://t.co/UF0fuptPq3

It is hard to be more disappointing than Javy Baez has been for the Tigers. https://t.co/uf7PwLKgEW
