Although the Angels haven’t revealed whether they will trade impending free agent Shohei Ohtani, observers can’t help but compose potential deals for the two-way superstar. To wit, the Yankees are viewed as perhaps the team most motivated to acquire Ohtani prior to the Aug. 1 trade deadline.
However, Fox Sports MLB analyst Eric Karros offered an intriguing take regarding Ohtani’s future.
“Who’s he going to be playing for?” Karros said on Saturday. “He’s going to be playing for the Giants. ... That makes all the sense in the world. They have the wherewithal to do it, then they get him for a couple months to try to court him so they can sign him in free agency. ... And you don’t think that the Angels wouldn’t want to trade him to San Francisco to spite the Dodgers? C’mon, this is drama.”
Will Shohei Ohtani play in the postseason this year?

The Giants currently sit third in the NL West with a 51–41 record, while the Angels sit third in the AL West with a 46–47 record. Ohtani has never reached the postseason in his six seasons with the Angels, while the Giants made the playoffs one time during that span.
Although Karros’s co-hosts seemed to disagree with his take, only time will tell where Ohtani will end up.
