The Met Office has said that a nine-day 'mini-heatwave' is on its way to the UK in less than a week - but Scotland is set to miss out on the highest temperatures.
Forecasters have predicted that things will start to heat up across parts of the UK from Thursday, May 5, when temperatures could reach as high as 20C and make some areas even hotter than the likes of Ibiza.
Nine days of sunny and dry weather are expected in some areas, with London and the south-east experiencing the highest temperatures of 18C-20C, The Mirror reports.
In London there is no rain forecast for the whole nine days and even at night the temperature will remain around 9C after reaching 20C during the day.
However, Scotland is forecast to miss out on these balmy highs, remaining at a comfortable 15C throughout most of the nine-day period.
According to BBC Weather, from May 5 until next weekend temperatures in both Edinburgh and Glasgow will range from a cooler 14C to 17C, with cloud and light rain predicted.
It’s a similar picture up in Aberdeen, where temperatures will reach highs of 17C on some days but will struggle to hit 12C on others with sunny intervals.
Dundee is also expected to be overcast throughout the period, with the sun peeking through the clouds intermittently as temperatures are set to range from highs of 12C to 17C.
Elsewhere in the UK, Wales is expected to enjoy some of the hottest temperatures with Cardiff hitting 19C throughout the nine-day period.
Temperatures in the West Midlands will be a little more changeable, hitting 19C on several days before dipping down to 17C.
Meanwhile, places like Manchester and Liverpool will see initial temperatures of 17C which are set to rise to 19C.
