A community trust wants to turn a tanning salon into a tearoom to bring more people into a town centre.
Bonnyrigg and Sherwood Community Development Trust has applied to Midlothian Council to change the use of the salon, on Lothian Street, into a community tearoom.
The trust, a registered charity, says the new cafe facility will boost the area and operate seven days a week from 8am until 7pm. In its planning application it says: "The tea-room will encourage footfall within the existing town centre and help to enhance the vitality and viability of the area."
