Michigan Coach Apologized to His Mother, Grandmother for His Fiery, Emotional Interview

Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore raised eyebrows across the country—for better or for worse—with his speech after the Wolverines' 24-15 win over Penn State Saturday.

The longtime Michigan assistant offered a passionate, colorful defense of Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh, who was suspended three games after a conference investigation into allegations of illegal in-person scouting by his program.

On Wednesday, Moore broke ever-so-slightly from Michigan's party line and acknowledged he had to apologize to two important people in his life after his interview: his mother and his grandmother.

“It was a lot bigger than just that moment," Moore told reporters, smiling.

After the Wolverines beat the Nittany Lions, Moore told Fox he wanted to "Thank Coach Harbaugh. F---ing love you, man. I love the s--- out of you, man. Did this for you."

The Wolverines have two games left in the regular season without Harbaugh: a road trip to Maryland on Saturday, and their annual rivalry game against Ohio State on Nov. 25.
