Delighted Michael Beale reckons Rangers are "ahead of schedule" in their transfer plans after snapping up Sam Lammers from Atalanta.
But he admitted player trading is set to ramp up with moves out of Ibrox set to ramp up before the season kicks off. A massive rebuild is well underway at Ibrox with Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland and Kieran Dowell being joined by the a £3.5 million striker in Beale's busy recruitment drive. Lammers joins the Italian Serie A side after spending last season at relegated Sampdoria, and the likes of Cyriel Dessers and Jose Cifuentes look likely to follow the Dutchman through the doors on Edmiston Drive.
Beale is looking to recover from a trophyless season last term and challenge Celtic - who are set to appoint Brendan Rodgers as Ange Postecoglou's successor in the coming days. And he warned fans that players could be "traded out" of the squad before the Scottish Premiership season restarts with the future of the likes of Glen Kamara up in the air, while Borna Barisic and John Lundstram are out of contract next summer.
The Rangers boss told the club website: “I am delighted with our progress so far in this summer transfer window. We have worked extremely well to recruit Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Sam Lammers. We are ahead of schedule in our plans.
“The coming weeks will see more trading both in and out of the squad as we prepare for the season ahead. We have key areas of focus and we are close to securing our targets in those positions.”
