Micah Richards loved what he saw from Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders at Wembley

Micah Richards admits he loved watching Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders celebrating Sunday's Carabao Cup final success over Chelsea.

Liverpool beat the Blues 11-10 on penalties after the two sides couldn't be separated over 90 minutes and extra time at Wembley.

Former Manchester City defender Richards said of the celebrations that followed on BBC 5 Live's The Monday Night Club: "In terms of Liverpool, they can be whatever they want.

"From the manager to even the assistant manager. I saw him dancing in the scenes from the dressing room yesterday. I loved it, I'd love to be around that."

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp was asked about the celebrations on Tuesday and claimed things didn't get too over the top despite the delight among the squad.

"The party was in the dressing room," said Klopp. "Loud music on the bus, no music on the plane and then we got home at 12.30am. The boys had a day off yesterday and we train again today. The celebrations were not too much."

Liverpool's win has sparked talk that Klopp's Reds could now go on and enjoy a record-breaking season.

The Merseyside outfit are still competitive in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League and pundits have suggested an historic quadruple could be on the cards.

But Klopp has been quick to play down the suggestion so as to alleviate pressure on his players.

"No team in the history of English football has won the quadruple, right? That is because it is incredibly difficult," said Klopp. "We are still behind Manchester City (in the Premier League ). We are not close to thinking about any crazy stuff like that.

"The only team who could get is us because we won the first final but even City, with all the quality they have in the last years, couldn't win the quadruple.

"That says pretty much everything. It is really difficult and that is why nobody has to dampen any kind of excitement. The reality to win something is you have to be focused on the next step and not the one after that because if you do that you will struggle.

"We are close to nothing at the moment. It is better people think we can do good things than we are useless but it is not important or helpful. We just want to think about Norwich (in the FA Cup on Wednesday)."
