Met Eireann forecasts glorious weather for Dublin with 23C heat

Time to slather on some sunscreen as Met Eireann has issued a gorgeous forecast for the weekend.

The national forecaster said it will be generally dry with good sunny spells and light breezes. There will be some rain as we get to the weekend but it will be pleasant overall.

Today will start dry with sunny spells, but there will be some isolated showers. It will remain dry in the east for daylight hours but patchy outbreaks of rain will move in during the evening or early night.

Temperatures will be around 18 or 19 degrees. Tonight will be cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle.

There will be some hill, mist, and coastal fog too but clear spells will develop across the west and southwest later with temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.

Tomorrow will start off cloudy with lingering outbreaks of rain and drizzle, gradually pulling away into the Irish Sea by around mid-afternoon. The west of the province will be drier and brighter with sunny spells and temperatures will range from 17 to 19 degrees.

While there is no further forecast for Dublin, here is what the national outlook says:

Friday night

"Mostly dry and calm with clear spells, however, some rain or drizzle will push into some western fringes. Some mist and fog patches will develop inland too. Minimum temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees, coolest in Ulster.

Saturday

"Rather cloudy across the northwest and parts of the west with occasional drizzle. Dry elsewhere though with sunny spells. The highest temperatures will range 15 to 21 degrees in light breezes, it will be warmest away from the northwest.

Saturday night

"Largely dry overnight with clear spells. Patchy drizzle may linger in the northwest with some mist of fog patches elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Sunday

"Most areas will be dry with good sunny spells and just isolated light shower. Highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees in light easterly breezes.

Sunday night

"Dry and clear with just light easterly breezes. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees."
