Met Eireann pinpoint arrival of snow in Dublin as temperatures plunge below freezing

Met Eireann has predicted overnight temperatures of -3 degrees tonight as icy conditions grip the country with a chance of snow and sleet later this evening.

A Yellow weather warning remains in place until midday as icy stretches may lead to treacherous conditions on roads and footpaths. Today will be mostly chilly, with daytime highs from 2 to 5 degrees.

Sunny weather will gradually give way to wintry showers by afternoon, with snow and sleet possible. Temperatures will later nosedive at night-time to lows of 0 to -3 degrees.
