Met Eireann has confirmed that snowy weather is on the way - but it shouldn't stick around for too long.
A weather warning is in place for Donegal, as snow and ice could cause dangerous conditions in the Ulster county.
It comes into place overnight and runs into Friday morning at around 10am.
At the same time, the UK Met Office has issued an identical warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.
In a short update on Thursday afternoon, Met Eireann confirmed that a new air mass will sweep across Ireland.
They said: "It's been a mild week so far but watch as a much colder air mass pushes in across Ireland later on Thursday night
"So a more wintry feel to our weather tomorrow with the risk of ice along with some blustery wintry showers."
However, there is good news - the cold snap will be very short, as Met Eireann added: "Temperatures recovering again over the weekend."
In terms of where and when the worst of the weather will be seen, brace yourselves if you are in the north or west of the country.
Thursday night will be "windy at first, but west to northwest winds will moderate away from the west and north coast", Met Eireann say.
They add: "Scattered showers will feed in later, mainly into Ulster and Connacht, some of hail and sleet, with the chance of some snow showers. A few isolated thunderstorms are likely too in northern parts. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees, coldest away from the west coast."
As for Friday, it will be "a cold, bright day with sunshine and showers, some heavy and of hail and sleet for a time; with the showers most widespread in northern parts. Some snow showers are possible for a time too, mainly for Ulster."
