On Monday, 7 September, the California Board of Parole granted Lyle and Erik Menendez an early parole suitability hearing. The brothers now have a parole suitability hearing tentatively scheduled for March 2027, roughly 17 months earlier than their previously expected August 2028 hearing.

The Menendez Brothers have spent more than three decades in prison for murdering their parents in 1989. They were convicted in 1996 for first-degree murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
