Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has released a detailed statement following the sensational finish to the Regency trial - blasting "false and deeply offensive comments" about her during the trial.
Key State witness Jonathan Dowdall was previously a Sinn Féin councillor - but Ms McDonald has said: "Had I known what he would become involved in he would not have been a party member for one minute, never mind running for public office."
And Ms McDonald has strongly condemned the actions of convicted criminal Mr Dowdall.
