Martin Lewis said people eligible for a gateway pension benefit may be entitled to other multiple bill reductions.
The Money Saving Expert joined Holly and Phil to guide callers through their financial troubles as he helps battle the ongoing cost of living crisis. He mentioned today is Pension Credit Day of Action and urged viewers to act swiftly to see if they qualify for a "gateway benefit" from the Department of Work and Benefits (DWP) which is worth £3,3000.
Those who qualify for the benefit could open themselves to more reductions in other areas including council tax and energy bills along with help towards medical bills if they are currently on a low income. Martin explained that whilst not everyone will be eligible the DWP is urging people to reach out and ask regardless as there will be no threat of fraudulent accusations.
