Tyson Fury has been called out by heavyweight contender Manuel Charr as he seeks to secure his next fight before the end of this year. This is despite talks with Anthony Joshua seemingly nearing completion, with a December 3rd fight in Cardiff having been widely discussed by both parties.
However, this new development sees Charr, a former WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion calling out Fury and providing a potential second option. Charr has a record of 33-4-0, with 19 wins coming via knockout. Despite his former world champion status he is not a widely known name in the same way as Joshua.
Charr is not currently ranked by the WBC, meaning that he would be ineligible to challenge for Fury's crown but this hasn't stopped the German from reigniting a war of words which began as far back as 2017 when Charr was the WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion.

In a video posted to Instagram, Charr repeated a message sent to Fury last month when his next opponent looked unclear : "Tyson Fury, take the fight. I'm ready to knock you out. Take my challenge. I'm ready for you, man. No excuses.
"I promise you on December 3, I will smash your pretty face you big dosser. I will focus on this green and gold belt coming home," he added.
Despite Charr's status within the sport currently, Fury responded to the video, claiming that he must defeat Oleksandr Usyk before a fight with Charr. "Diamond Boy, I've got a certain little middleweight that I've got to put that fist through first. However, if he doesn't want no smoke, you can surely get it. Pressure will break diamonds." Fury explained.
A fight between Fury and Usyk still looks as though it could happen after a potential bout against Joshua, with Usyk currently taking time away from the sport in his home country of Ukraine. Fury's revelation that he has another 'middleweight' to beat, which is referring to Usyk, shows Fury's desire for a future unification fight.
