Manhattan-style restaurant and cocktail bar Foodwulf opens in Bishopbriggs

A new Manhattan-style restaurant and cocktail bar is set to open just outside Glasgow this week with the arrival of Foodwulf.

Opening in the former Frankie and Benny’s in Strathkelvin Retail Park, the 140-seater restaurant will serve up burgers, pizzas, and buttermilk chicken wings alongside the likes of Fangtastic cocktails and shakes.

Foodwulf welcomed in its first customers on Saturday.

Frankie and Benny's closed in January of this year and the vacant unit has been brought back to life by Scot’s based Structured Hospitality Group, made up by a conglomerate of businessmen including ex-Hilton Director Craig Gardner, Property Developer Craig Inglis and Dhabba and Dakhin owner Navdeep Basi, who all boast decades of experience in the hospitality industry.

Inside, guests will find cosy red and black booths, neon signs and an open plan kitchen, while outside there'll be sheltered all-weather seating for an extra eighty customers.

The Foodwulf GM is Paul Lorraine, who has managed various well known outlets over the years including Bar Bloc, McLay Inns outlets, Dram, Blue Dog, the Butterfly and Pig and many more.

Paul said: “We feel opening in Bishopbriggs offers a lot of opportunity with retail park footfall and nothing like this within the vicinity of Bishopbriggs.

“We are focusing on comfort food and a relaxing time whether it’s with families, after work, going shopping or having a good time.”

He added: “A top of the range pizza oven we inherited from previous owners Frankie and Benny’s will offer crispy based pizzas, alongside lip smacking super crispy chicken, and juicy, succulent stacked burgers with unique sauces made from freshly made locally sourced ingredients.

“I don’t think anyone will be able to come in and say their belly is not full. We look after vegetarians, vegans and have a great halloumi burger, veggie hotdogs and other options."

“We also have a range of comfort desserts like ice creams and chocolate brownies and all your classic cocktails, including new ones like the Harvey Wulfbanger.”

Main dishes will be priced around £10-15 and a range of menus will be released over the next few weeks.

Foodwulf is located at unit 9ASteathkelvin Retail Park, Crosshill Road, Bishopbriggs Glasgow, G64 2TS.

The opening hours are 12pm - Late, seven days a week.
