The landscape of Manchester United's first-team squad has officially changed following the conclusion of several players' contracts and loan deals.
United, who will get their pre-season campaign under way against Leeds United in Oslo in just over a week's time, issued their retained list just over a fortnight ago, confirming that seven players would leave the club when their deals expired on June 30. Phil Jones was the headline departure and was to be joined in leaving Old Trafford by the likes of Axel Tuanzebe and Ethan Galbraith.
Fellow youngsters Di'Shon Bernard, Eric Hanbury, Charlie Wellens and Manni Norkett have also left the club.
Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst have also now officially left United following the expiry of their respective loan deals. Both players joined the Reds in January, signing from Bayern Munich and Burnley respectively, on deals until June 30.

Jack Butland, too, has already left Old Trafford and joined Scottish side Rangers after his contract at Crystal Palace expired. Butland, like Sabitzer and Weghorst, joined United in January on a short-term loan deal.

David de Gea could be the final departure from Old Trafford on a free transfer this summer. He is now technically a free agent after his deal expired on Friday, but United are set to continue face-to-face talks with him amid the prospect of reaching an agreement for him to stay at the club.
Meanwhile, Zidane Iqbal and Ethan Laird have already sealed permanent exits from United for undisclosed fees. Iqbal has joined Dutch side FC Utrecht while Laird, who spent last season on loan at QPR, joined Birmingham City on Friday, bringing his Reds career to a close.
Elsewhere, a cluster of players, such as Dean Henderson, Alvaro Fernandez, Alex Telles and Amad, have now officially returned to Old Trafford following the expiry of their respective loan deals. Members of that returning loan army, however, could be sold or sent out on loan once again this summer.
