Manchester United fans know who they want to play at right wing under Erik ten Hag

Manchester United want to improve their forward line, but after seemingly missing out on a move for Darwin Nunez with the player now likely to join to Liverpool, many fans think that the club will pivot from signing a striker to instead picking up a right-winger on the transfer market. Erik ten Hag's tactics at Ajax used the wingers heavily and it is expected to be no different at Old Trafford.

GoalBR has reported that the winger that United could sign is Ten Hag's former player Antony. The Brazilian scored 12 goals and registered eight assists this season, and his representatives have reportedly flown to Europe this week in order to sort out a deal for the player.

However many fans have reservations about the move. Not because of the price or because of concerns over whether he could adapt, but what it could mean for United's other young options on the right-wing.

Amad and Facundo Pellistri will be returning to Old Trafford this summer from their loans at Rangers and Deportivo Alaves respectively. Though they haven't got consistent game time while they have been on loan, they have shown their incredible talent in flashes.

Many fans feel that the signing of Antony would block the two players' progression and the club should think before they sanction a deal. They were also quick to point out that Jadon Sancho was signed for £73m to play on the right-wing as well.

With a lot of football, there will be a lot of minutes up for grabs, but United fans made their thoughts known on social media. Here is a selection of their responses from Twitter:
