Manchester hotel scoops top award for third year in a row

For the third year running, Hotel Indigo Manchester - Victoria Station has picked up TripAdvisor's 2022 Travelers’ Choice Award. The award was bestowed on the city centre hotel earlier this month for ‘demonstrating a commitment to excellence’.

The award celebrates the businesses that have received great reviews from guests around the globe on the TripAdvisor platform over the last 12 months. It was noted that despite the challenges faced by the hospitality sector over the past year, the hotel consistently delivered positive experiences to its customers.

Commenting on the win, Paul Upham Director of Sales & Marketing said: “We are delighted to once again be recognised in the top 10% of hotels globally for offering outstanding service and experience to our guests. The praise must go to our amazing team, throughout the turbulence of the last 12 months, our hard working and dedicated team have gone above and beyond, to ensure that our guests have received the best possible experience whilst here at Hotel Indigo Manchester.

“It’s a real honour to work with some of the best in the business and to be awarded for 2022 TripAdvisor Travelers’s choice award.”

Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at TripAdvisor added: “Congratulations to the 2022 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Winners. “The Travelers’ Choice Awards recognise the best in tourism and hospitality, according to those who matter most: your guests.

“Ranking among the Travelers’ Choice winners is always tough - but never more so than this year as we emerge from the pandemic. Whether it's using new technology, implementing safety measures, or hiring outstanding staff, I’m impressed by the steps you've taken to meet travelers' new demands. You've adapted brilliantly in the face of adversity."

Located next to Manchester Victoria Station and housed within a Victorian Grade II-listed building, Hotel Indigo first opened its doors in 2018. Nodding to the city’s industrial past, design details include wrought iron gates that welcome guests into the space, and a light installation, set against a backdrop of exposed brick, featuring baskets strung up from hoists - a nod to the building’s former use as tea warehouse.

The hotel is also home to sustainable restaurant, Mamucium, which is based on the ground floor. Named after the Roman fort that was the birthplace of modern Manchester, the eatery serves up a menu dedicated to British cooking, using local and seasonal ingredients.
