Man Utd transfer round-up: 'Secret' Marcos Reus meeting held as Erik ten Hag drops hints

Erik ten Hag is continuing to look to boost his squad after Manchester United emerged as surprise Premier League title contenders.

Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst have both arrived at Old Trafford on loan, but more frontline options are needed. The Red Devils can move to within five points of Arsenal if they defeat the Gunners on Sunday, with Ten Hag continuing to seek further signings.

There could also be departures this month for the players on the fringes of Ten Hag's squad, as the Dutchman looks to overhaul his options. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Manchester United transfer news.

'Secret' Reus meeting held

With attackers set to be one of the summer priorities for Ten Hag in the summer window, the Dutchman is stepping up his pursuit of Marco Reus. The legendary winger is out of contract at Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

He has already admitted that he will consider all options available to him when his deal does run out. United are thought to be one of the frontrunners if he does move on from Signal Iduna Park.

And the Daily Mail report that Ten Hag held a 'secret meeting' with Reus' representatives after the Manchester derby. The United boss met with Dirk Hebel and Darren Freeman, though it is unknown if the talks were positive.

Negotiations for Pellistri exit 'advanced'

Facundo Pellistri has been growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of game-time at United since Ten Hag took over. The winger is still yet to make an appearance in the Premier League, though he has been on the bench for eight matches.

It appears he may now be offered an escape route from Old Trafford and a return to South America with it. According to O Globo, United are now in 'advanced negotiations' with Brazilian side Flamengo for an initial loan deal.

They are said to have proposed a one-year loan with an option to buy and are 'prepared' to pay his full wages. The Red Devils are yet to make a final decision on Pellistri's future, though they are thought to be 'interested' in Flamengo's offer.

Ten Hag drops transfer hint

United boss Erik ten Hag has refused to rule out making more signings in this month's transfer window. The Dutchman has hinted he is keen to further boost his squad following the arrivals of Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst.

“I think as Manchester United you always have to look for solutions. You always have to look for better and that is what we will do. We will be doing our research and if there are opportunities, we have to go for it," Ten Hag said.
