Manchester United ace Alejandro Garnacho appears to be torn over who is the 'GOAT' between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after his latest social media activity.
He would not be the first with many around the world unable to pick between the two footballing legends over who is the best of all time. It is a common consensus, though, that the pair are out in front.
Messi and Ronaldo reign supreme when it comes to goals, trophies, individual prizes and blockbuster moments. Over the past near 15 years, they have battled it out for the Ballon d'Or - winning a total of 12 between them.
Messi is edging that war with seven while Ronaldo has five but the United star has lifted more Champions League titles with five against the Argentine's four. After Paris Saint-Germain won Ligue 1, that took Messi's total to 11 league titles in his cabinet compared to Ronaldo, who has seven.
While the debate over who is better will likely rage on for many years, for now it might be easier to sit on the fence. And that appears to be Garnacho's mindset, who has close ties to both.
Celebrating Messi's 35th birthday today, Garnacho posted to his Instagram a picture of the two in training for Argentina. Captioning the post, he simply put two emojis - a party popper and a goat - indicating his preference over the popularised acronym of late 'Greatest of all time'.
However, just two months ago, Garnacho has appeared to have reneged on his claim that Ronaldo is indeed the best of the two. In an Instagram post of the two at United, the youngster captioned the picture: "Greatest of all times… Dream big, guys."
Despite being just 17, the United starlet is among a very exclusive group of players to have worked alongside both. The teenager has already been involved in the first-team set-up at Old Trafford, making two appearances towards the end of the season.
However, if that was not enough, he was also called up to the Argentina senior team as part of an initial 44-man squad to compete in the World Cup qualifiers back in March. He even made it as far as the 33-man cut, though he did not earn a first-team cap.
Nevertheless, it is an impressive start to his career while it would be a dream for any footballer - let alone a teenager - to learn from Ronaldo and Messi at the same time.
