Man to be executed in just hours for murdering 16-year-old girl stranded with flat tyre

A man is set to be executed in just hours for the killing and raping of a 16-year-old girl who was ordered into the murderer's van after breaking down with a flat tyre.

Thomas Edwin Loden Jr, 58, from Mississippi, US, will be lethally injected at 6pm local time (midnight GMT) at Mississippi State Penitentiary after being on death row since 2001.

He pleaded guilty to capital murder, rape and four counts of sexual battery against 16-year-old Leesa Marie Gray.
