A man was taken to hospital after a suspected hit and run outside a Chinese takeaway in County Durham.
Durham Constabulary received a report of a road traffic collision in Fishburn on Saturday (August 13) at around 6.55pm. It was reported that a single male pedestrian was struck by a car outside of the Wo Ping Chinese takeaway on Salters Lane.
Police said the vehicle involved then made off from the scene towards Sedgefield. The man was subsequently taken to James Cook Hospital by the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to cime forward with information and are specifically looking for a dark blue VW Scirocco that made off from the scene. They are also asking anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
A spokeperson for Durham Roads and Armed Policng said: "Approximately 1855hrs a single male pedestrian has been struck by a car outside of the Wo Ping Chinese takeaway on Salters Lane. The vehicle involved has then made off from the scene towards Sedgefield.
"Officers are specifically looking for a dark blue VW Scirocco that made off. The male casualty was taken to James Cook Hospital by North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
