- A murder investigation has been launched after a 40-year-old man was shot dead during a memorial service in Acton, west London.
- Between 40 and 50 people, including children, had gathered at the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street when the shooting took place on Friday evening.
- Emergency services treated the victim at the scene, but he died from a suspected gunshot wound despite their efforts.
- Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie has appealed for witnesses and any footage from the area recorded between 6pm and 8pm.
- He said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of a man whose life was taken in a senseless act of violence.”
