A man has been left with a serious head injury after being punched to the floor in Hanham. Avon and Somerset Police say the offender, as well as a man he was with, ran from the scene after the attack last night (July 7).
It took place on High Street at around 8.30pm and the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was rushed to Southmead Hospital. The road was closed for several hours as forensic investigators examined the area.
Investigating officers are now in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from the area and have launched a public appeal for information. They are keen to hear from anyone with relevant details that may aid enquiries.

Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: "At approximately 8.30pm last night a man in his 30s was punched to the floor by man on High Street, Hanham. The victim sustained a serious head injury and was taken to Southmead Hospital.
"The offender, along with another man who he was with, ran from the scene following the attack. High Street was closed for several hours last night while specialist forensic investigators examined the area.
"Detectives are currently reviewing CCTV as well as conducting other enquiries as part of their inquiry into the incident. Anyone who has information which could help us is asked to phone 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5223162515."
