Man found dead in public toilet after 'concern for safety' as police cordon off scene

A man has been found dead in a public toilet after police responded to a 'concern for safety' report.

Officers were called to the toilets in Lord Roberts Road in Beverley, Hull on Monday evening following safety concerns for a man.

The man was sadly later found dead inside the small building.

A section of the road was cordoned off for more than two hours, however the death is not thought to be suspicious, reports Hull Live.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: "We were called to reports of a concern for safety of a person on Lord Roberts Road in Beverley at around 8.30pm yesterday evening.

"On arrival a man was found deceased in a public toilet. The circumstances of his death are not being treated as suspicious at this time."

The toilets are located between a flower shop and a car park and opposite flats.

A witness said: "There were multiple police cars on the road and they had taped off the area outside the toilets.

"People are saying that it was a man who died in there."
