A man has died after a horror one-vehicle crash in a Scots village.
Emergency services raced to the Main Street, in Guardbridge near St Andrews, shortly after 7am on Thursday, January 27.
The one-vehicle smash led to major tailbacks as motorists were diverted from the area at rush-hour.
Police have now confirmed a 48-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
Cops are appealing for anyone with information about the fatal collision to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a one-vehicle crash on Main Street in Guardbridge around 7.10am on Thursday, 27 January, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and a 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
“Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with information about the crash should contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0438 of 27 January.”
