A MAN has died, and a woman has been taken to hospital following a crash in Dundee.
The police were called to Johnston Avenue, between Strathmore Street and Clepington Road, at around 8.10am on Friday following a report of a crash involving a silver Hyundai IX35.
Emergency services attended the incident and the driver, a 69-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A passenger in the car, a 63-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital to be checked over.
The road was closed while detectives carried out their investigation into the crash and it later reopened at around 12.15pm.
Sergeant Brian McEwen said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and they have asked for privacy at what is a very difficult time for them.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area at the time please also check any dash-cam footage and contact us if something that could assist with our investigation has been captured.”
