A man has tragically died and a woman has been injured after a two car crash in Fife.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Links Crescent in St Andrews shortly after 10am on Monday, July 10.
A picture from the scene shows Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance landing on the 18th hole on the nearby Old Course.
Police closed the road for several hours while they dealt with the collision. Officers have now confirmed that a 66-year-old man has passed away.
A 51-year-old woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, received a leg injury however it is not currently known if she was taken to hospital.
A statement from Police Scotland said: “A 66-year-old man has died following a road crash on Monday, 10 July, 2023.
“Police were called around 10.10am to a report of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Links Crescent, St Andrew's.
“Emergency services attended, however, the 66-year-old man died. The 51-year-old female driver of the other vehicle received a leg injury. The road has been reopened.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 10:13 on 10 July 2023 to attend a two car RTC on Links Crescent, St Andrews. Multiple resources were dispatched to the scene.”
