A man has died after falling from a Stena Line ferry in Scotland.
An urgent rescue mission was launched at the Loch Ryan port in Cairnryan on Saturday evening (July 1) following the incident. HM Coastguard, police and ambulance crews were scrambled to the scene, where the casualty was rescued by the ferry's rescue craft.
He was then airlifted to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, reports the Daily Record. Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a man having gone overboard from a ferry at Belfast Way, Cairnryan around 5.50pm on Saturday, 1 July, 2023. Emergency services attended and the man was taken to University Hospital Ayr, where he was pronounced dead.
“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident remain ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
