Man City super-fan Noel Gallagher in ‘shock’ after Premier League charges verdict

  • Oasis musician and prominent Manchester City supporter Noel Gallagher has expressed “shock” and sadness following reports that the club was found guilty of 114 out of 115 Premier League financial breach charges.
  • Speaking on the Let Me Talk podcast, Gallagher insisted that boardroom rulings do not taint historic on-pitch achievements for supporters, such as Sergio Aguero's dramatic 2012 Premier League title-winning goal.
  • The club had vehemently denied any financial wrongdoing since the Premier League first issued the 115 charges against them in February 2023.
  • Former Manchester City chairman David Bernstein warned that the club will face “severe” and “drastic” penalties beyond mere financial fines if the guilty verdict is upheld after an appeal.
  • Bernstein called for a swift resolution to the upcoming appeal process, stressing that prolonged legal delays would be disastrous for both Manchester City and English football generally.
