Man City's Premier League and Champions League fixture run-in with historic treble on the line

Manchester City had their potential path to Paris decided in Friday's Champions League draw, with their final fixture list now looking a little clearer after some date confirmations.

Pep Guardiola's side are still top of the Premier League by one point, in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday and a Champions League quarter-final in just over two weeks' time. A historic treble is still possible.

Friday's draw in Nyon pitted the last year's finalists against Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, with the winner of that tie set to play one of Real Madrid and Chelsea in the semi-final. With dates for both ties now confirmed, City's final fixture list is now looking a lot clearer, so here is a breakdown of what the Blues have to come:

Southampton (A) (FAC)

To reach Wembley once more, City must face a team who they have failed to beat on both occasions in the Premier League this season. Ralph Hasenhuttl's side will be looking for a repeat performance, but the Saint are coming into the game off the back of three successive defeats.

Burnley (A) (PL)

After the two-week international break, the Blues will resume club duties with a trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley. Dropping points in their last Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace, this game could be the first time since the turn of the year that City will start the game not top of the table - with Liverpool set to face Watford on Saturday lunchtime.

Atletico Madrid (H) (UCL)

Falling just before - and just after - a crucial title-deciding clash with Liverpool, it will be interesting to see how Guardiola sets up his team over the two legs. Simeone is the master of defensive football, as seen by their battling performance at Old Trafford where they knocked out City's local rivals, Manchester United.

With how congested this period is, a good first-leg lead could be crucial.

Liverpool (H) (PL)

I don't think it needs explaining how huge this game on April 10th is. Liverpool have closed the gap on City to a singular point and the winner of this clash at the Etihad Stadium - much like in 2018/19 - will go a long way in determining who takes home the Premier League trophy in May.

City will be hoping to have Ruben Dias back for the game, whilst Liverpool will be hoping for the same regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold, who Jurgen Klopp confirmed has suffered a hamstring injury earlier today.

Atletico Madrid (A) (UCL)

Visiting the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium is a tough task for any team in European football - especially after what will surely be a high-intensity game against Liverpool. The Blues could go into this clash after a loss to their Merseyside rivals knowing the Champions League is potentially their only chance of silverware for the season.

Equally, there still could be the chance of a treble on offer.

Wolves (A) (PL) / (FAC SF)

Depending on City's result on Sunday, this game could possibly be moved to a later date to accommodate the FA Cup semi-final. If Guardiola's side were to exit the competition, a Premier League clash with Wolves will be a huge test of City's bottle.

Bruno Lage's side are in fine form and will be eager to display that against the reigning champions. It's a fixture to certainly keep an eye on.

Brighton (H) (PL)

This was a fixture set to take place this weekend, but Sunday's FA Cup clash has moved it to much later in the campaign. Despite a poor recent run of form, Guardiola hasn't been shy to hide his admiration of Graham Potter in the past, with his Brighton side always causing massive problems against the top six.

Watford (H) (PL)

Even if you're a big believer in jinxes, Watford at home is the most winnable of winnable home games for City. City have won their last 14 meetings against the Hornets by an aggregate score of 53-7.

Chelsea/Real Madrid (H) (UCL)

We're getting into hypotheticals now, but if City were to progress past Atletico, Chelsea or Real Madrid would be waiting in the semi-final. A home leg first, with each team a formidable task for Guardiola's side.

Leeds (A) (PL)

It's a team that typically cause City a lot of problems, but they were emphatically pumped by the Blues 7-0 at the Etihad earlier this season. Facing them at Elland Road - with a full house - is a different proposition all together, however.

Chelsea/Real Madrid (A) (UCL)

Dependent on the score of the hypothetical first leg, Guardiola's team selection around and on this day could be a tough one to call. City will be hoping for a healthy lead to take to Stamford Bridge or the Santiago Bernabeu, with a tough Premier League run-in to come.

Newcastle (H) (PL)

This fixture has a completely different feel to the one in December. Newcastle have recruited well and look like an entirely different team under Eddie Howe. They will arrive at the Etihad in high spirits, looking to cause an upset.

West Ham United (A)

As final away days go, this is a horrible one for City fans to stomach. The Hammers could very well still be fighting for a top-four finish come May and the Blues will likely need the victory to maintain their position at the top, or keep any hope of overtaking Liverpool alive.

Aston Villa (H) (PL)

There are so many narratives around this fixture I'm starting to lose count. Jack Grealish potentially securing the title against his boyhood club will be a sweet one for the City faithful, but Liverpool fans will be hoping for a final day favour from old-boys Steven Gerrard and Philippe Coutinho.
