Ortega: Nothing to do, with just the one Chelsea shot on target that will have been quickly forgotten. 6
Walker: Given license to roam down the right wing and did not waste it, clocking up an assist and besting Chelsea all game. 8
Akanji: Calmly dealt with anything that came his way and worked well with Walker to push City forward. 7
Laporte: Covered the space as Gomez pushed further forward, happy being the last line of defence mopping up any Chelsea attacks. 7
Gomez: Gave City an outlet going forward and wide that they haven't had, but almost cost the team with a rash challenge at the back. 6
Rodri: Enjoyed the company of Gomez and Bernardo alongside him at various points but cruised through the game before a deserved early change. 7
Bernardo: Further back than many would have expected as a sweeper of a midfielder before belatedly pushing up. No issues. 7
Palmer: Tentative early on but grew into the game and his forward play led to the second goal. 7
Mahrez: A great goal, made some entertaining runs and impressive challenges even if it was a shame Palmer was kept off the right wing. The penalty topped off his day 9
Foden: Outjumping Kalidou Koulibaly was quite something to see, and the goal was taken with trademark brilliance of touch. 8
Alvarez: Ran for everything, laughed off Kepa's attempts to disrupt him for the penalty, and then ran some more. 7
Substitutes
Phillips (for Rodri, 59): Difficult to judge with the game already won, but a quiet afternoon is no bad thing in that position. 6
Cancelo (for Gomez, 59): Back at left-back and looked far more comfortable, although still some races to get back into defence. 6
Lewis (for Bernardo, 86): No time
Not used: Ederson, Stones, Ake, Lewis, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Haaland
