A Melbourne man has been charged with the sexual assaults of 33 women spanning three different nights at the same Chapel Street nightclub.

The 33-year-old Cranbourne man allegedly perpetrated the series of sexual assaults between September and October at the Prahran venue.

Victoria police alleged the first incident occurred on Saturday 23 September, followed by further alleged assaults on the 14 and 21 October.

He was initially charged by Victoria Police with six counts of sexual assault on 27 October, and was granted bail to appear at Melbourne magistrates court in January.

On Tuesday, he was charged with a further 65 counts of sexual assault.

Detectives from the Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team will allege the assaults were perpetrated against 33 women.

He will appear at the Melbourne magistrates court in relation to the new charges on 22 December.
