Man Arrested Near Trump Rally With Illegal Firearms And Magazine

A man was arrested near former President Donald Trump's rally in Coachella, California for illegally possessing a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office reported that Vem Miller, a 49-year-old from Las Vegas, was taken into custody just before 5 p.m. PT at a checkpoint near the rally.

Miller was found in a black SUV by deputies assigned to the event. He was arrested without incident and later booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center for possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

Fortunately, the sheriff's office confirmed that the incident did not pose a threat to the safety of former President Trump or the attendees of the rally. Miller was released on a $5,000 bail, as indicated by the Riverside County Inmate Information System.

The Palm Desert Sheriff's Station is seeking information from the public regarding this incident. Additionally, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office is scheduled to hold a news conference on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET to provide further details.
