The 28-year-old, of Birleywood, Skelmersdale appeared at Preston Magistrates' Court later that day charged with his murder. During the brief hearing, Figueiredo, of Birleywood, Skelmersdale, spoke only to confirm his name and address, Lancs Live reports.
He did not enter any plea to the charge of murder. Magistrates said the case could only be dealt with by the Crown Court and set a date for the defendant to make his first appearance on Tuesday, July 4.
Figueiredo was remanded in custody and will next appear at Preston Crown Court. Paying tribute after his death, Dylan’s family said: “Our boy had a heart of gold, he was a gentle giant and was loved by so many. As a family we have no words to explain how we are feeling at this heart-breaking time.
"Dylan had such an infectious smile that would light up any room and he could cheer anyone up with one of his big bear hugs. Our boy didn’t deserve any of this, he was just a 15-year-old lad working towards being a car mechanic, with his whole life ahead of him. We’ve got a hole in our heart that will never heal and no amount of words will ever take our pain away."
Lancashire police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to call 101, quoting log 1526 of June 29. Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
