A man accused of murdering teenager Keane Mulready-Woods has been cleaning up the streets of the capital while on bail awaiting trial.
Gerard Cruise, 48, was spotted on Sunday in Dublin’s north inner city with others who had tidied up the street. Afterwards, there was live music, food, ice cream and DJs to play for the locals who enjoyed the sunshine, with local gardai also in attendance.
The event was organised by Dublin City Council and the Local Community Safety Partnership. Cruise has been on bail after it was granted by the High Court in January 2021, subject to strict conditions, but his co-accused Paul Crosby remains in prison custody.

Cruise, of Dublin 1, and 25-year-old Crosby of Rathmullan Park, are charged with 17-year-old Mulready Woods’ murder at a house in Rathmullan Park on January 12 or 13, 2020. The trial had been set to take place in April but the Special Criminal Court heard from lawyers on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions that it was inevitable “further considerable disclosure would have to be made before the trial is in a position to proceed”.
Mr Justice Tony Hunt fixed the date to January 23, 2023 as a provisional date for trial. Mulready Woods was last seen alive in Drogheda town on January 12, 2020. The following day, some of the teenager’s dismembered body parts were found in a holdall in Coolock in Dublin.
Two days later, his head, hands and feet were found in a burning car in the Drumcondra area of the city. His torso was then discovered in wasteland at Rathmullen Park in Drogheda on March 11 last year.
Earlier this year, Gerard “Ged” McKenna, 52, was convicted in relation to the killing. The dad-of-eight cleaned up and redecorated his house following the murder of Mulready Woods and was jailed for four years.
