Malaysian police have conducted a series of raids and rescues in connection to an Islamic business group under investigation for alleged sexual assault of children. A total of 187 children and young people, including 59 under the age of 5, were rescued from welfare homes associated with Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings. The police chief revealed that disturbing online videos showed instances of physical abuse, including caning and stepping on children.

Since the case against GISB emerged, a total of 572 children under the age of 18 have been rescued, with 156 suspects arrested for further investigation. Reports indicate that some children were subjected to heinous acts such as sodomy, being taught to sexually abuse each other, denied medical care, and physically harmed as punishment.

The victims, primarily children of GISB employees, were allegedly indoctrinated from a young age to be loyal to the group. The recent police actions were prompted by a call from the country's king for swift investigation and action in this shocking case that has deeply affected the nation.

GISB, known for promoting an Islamic way of life, operates various businesses in Malaysia and abroad. The group has ties to the banned Al Arqam Islamic sect, with an estimated 10,000 employees and followers believed to be practicing its teachings. Police have conducted raids at 280 locations linked to GISB, seizing materials with deviant teachings in some instances.

Authorities have frozen 138 bank accounts and 14 properties associated with GISB as part of a money laundering investigation. Several individuals have been charged with the sexual assault of children, including members of GISB's management and family members of the late Al Arqam leader.
