Pop star Maisie Peters has opened up about the surreal moment she was introduced to football ace Wayne Rooney at Ed Sheeran's latest concert in Manchester.
Masie, 22, is currently touring and supporting music legend Ed on his UK tour and discovered that Wayne and his wife Coleen huge fans of the flame-haired singer as they turned up for a VIP meet and greet.
Speaking to the Mirror about the moment she came face to face with the couple, who are currently waiting the verdict in Coleen's Wagatha Christie battle against Rebekah Vardy, Maisie said it was a 'total whirlwind.'
Spilling on the wildest moments of Ed's tour so far, Maisie said: "I met Wayne Rooney yesterday.
"That was so fun. Big moment in my life.
"Wayne is also like the biggest Ed Sheeran fan so I did meet him and I did send a photo to my family group chat.
"And everyone was really excited and they were probably more excited about that than anything I’ve ever done.
"I was really nervous. I had to pump myself up to say hello. But he was so nice," she added.
Both Maisie and Ed are performing at this year's Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard as part of a star-studded line-up that also includes Harry Styles, Georga Ezra and Anne-Marie.
Wayne and Coleen dropped by at Ed's gig at Manchester's Etihad Stadium after recently returning home from a family holiday to Dubai.
Mum Coleen took to Instagram on Sunday morning to reveal they'd had 'the best time' with their boys.
The Rooney clan jetted off after a tense few weeks that saw Coleen appearing daily at London's High Court to face her fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy in their defamation trial.
Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City Jamie Vardy, took legal action after Coleen posted a Tweet in October 2019 that accused her Instagram account of leaking stories about her.
The families are now awaiting the verdict in the trial, which is expected to take weeks.
Mum Rebekah also took to her Instagram post-trial to reveal that her family had jetted off to a sun-soaked location.
