MUMBAI: The Sharad Pawar-led NCP on Friday claimed there was no cross-voting by Congress and NCP legislators in the July 18 presidential poll though CM Eknath Shinde had claimed NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu would get over 200 votes from Maharashtra.
"All Congress and NCP legislators voted in favour of opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha. A section of BJP and Shinde camp leaders had declared there would be cross-voting by legislators and Murmu would cross the 200 mark, but that did not happen as she polled 181 votes," NCP spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said. He was not talking of MPs voting in the poll. Both MLAs and MPs vote in the presidential poll.
