Madonna has admitted to feeling that her openness with her sexuality paved the way for future generations of pop stars.
The 80s icon took to her Instagram page to discuss her role as a trailblazing act in the music industry over the decades, focusing on the negative attention she received for her sexual persona at a time when it was forwned upon.
Madonna, 64, confessed to feeling that she "paved the way" for the female celebrities of today who play on their sexuality to help with progressing their careers, including Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus and Cardi B.
Kicking off the chat by talking about her cutting edge S.E.X. photo book, which was released in 1992, the chart star cited the outrage the publication caused for its content at the time.
She posted: "30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. in addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman and Me kissing everyone...
"I also wrote about my sexual fantasies and shared my point of view about sexuality in an ironic way."
Madonna then went on to detail the criticism she received in the years following the publication of the book as she admitted critics tried to "shame" her for her attempts at embracing her sexual femininity.
She continued: "I spent the new few years being interviewed by narrow-minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman."
The Vogue singer then detailed how she "was called a w****, a witch a heretic and the devil" in the years that followed because she did not fit the societal standard.
Madonna went on to suggest that modern performers would not have the freedom to express themselves with their bodies and their sexual appeal.
She added: "Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked a** and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball."
The queen of pop concluded: "You're welcome b****es."
Madonna then shared a series of videos to her Instagram story where she was discussing her book.
During one sit down chat she asked the interviewer why he was afraid of the printed offering when he told her he "got a fright" when reading it.
She then explained that she was intrigued by the popular reactions to the book as she wanted to understand the general perspective better.
She said: "I think that people's reactions to specific situations in the book was much more a reflection of that person than me... Are you frightened of a woman that can turn herself on?"
Madonna has been sharing several posts circling on her sexuality recently, with fans speculating that she had come out as gay when she shared a TikTok of herself throwing a pair of hot pink knickers at a bin emblazoned with the caption "If I miss, I'm gay!"
