Regional director Indore division (health services) Dr Ashok Dagaria said, “Dhar district lagged initially in inoculation of adult population matchup with big cities like Indore and even surpassed them in inoculating kids with continuous and sufficient proper vaccine supply.”
“The remote districts like Dhar, Alirajpur, Jhabua were getting very limited doses of Covid-19 vaccine for a couple of months at the beginning of the drive last year in accordance with plan prioritizing bigger cities”, said Dr Dagaria.
“The districts like Dhar, Alirajpur focused on kid’s category inoculation covering the kids even in buses on road squares, and other places”, added Dr Dagaria.
It ultimately helped Dhar, which became the first district in MP on January 25 this year to cover all targeted 15-17 kids with their first dose, added Dr Dagaria.
The other districts in division are ranging between 50-65% in full immunization of 15-17 kids except Khargone which inoculated 81% targeted ones with both their doses. Barwani was on bottom with only 51% two dose inoculation to 15-17 kids.
