Benji Marshall says clubs now have to be alert that the PNG Chiefs are a major power in the NRL transfer market after the new franchise used its tax-free concessions to land Wests Tigers superstar Jarome Luai.
Marshall conceded on Wednesday that he had dismissed the Chiefs' threat up until Luai walked into his office this week and told him he would move to the start-up franchise in 2028.
