Liam Reardon wants to make his boxing debut on KSI's Misfits card in May.
The Welsh star won Love Island alongside ex-partner Millie Court in 2021 and burst to fame through reality TV where he also featured on Channel Four series Celebs Go Dating. Now Reardon has announced he is training with the intention of making his boxing bow, having attempted to enter the amateur ranks prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
Reardon initially began training with the intention of eventually breaking into the traditional boxing ranks, but after growing his profile massively following his stint on TV he may now be in a position to fast track to bigger fights. The 23-year-old is training at Matchroom Boxing gym under coach Kevin Mitchell alongside fellow countryman John Ryder and rising star Conor Benn.
He is anticipating that his debut will be this year and already has his eyes on the prize- an appearance on YouTube star KSI's Misfits Boxing card in May. "Yes I would like to go for Misfits now," Reardon told Mirror Fighting. "I would like to take the traditional route but it is quite difficult with the industry I am in now.
"The opportunity is there, if I can get in there and prove myself it could lead to other things. We will see, I am only 23 and if things keep going well and people take me seriously then it could lead to something more seriously like signing with a BOXXER or Matchroom. That is the plan eventually. Hopefully I can get out in the ring May time or any time this summer.
"If I can get on the one in May that would be great the sooner the better. Some of the guys are skilled, some not so but they bring entertainment and they put on a show. I respect them all and I think the level of competition will go up. Until I fight and prove myself I am in no position to call anyone out but I want to just get in there."

Reardon is just 23 and and regularly has learned the way to be a boxer alongside some of the best including ex-world champion Joe Cordina. Misfits Boxing have announced several cards for this year with the May bill set to feature KSI himself who will likely take on Joe Fournier.
The ex-Love Island winner had several role models which have drawn him the the sport but stated that his father used to show him video of one member of the 'Fabulous Four' Thomas Hearns that sparked his love for the squared circle. "Growing up I really liked Thomas Hearns. My dad used to show me the old thick videos of him, I was very lanky and skinny so maybe I could be someone like that.
"I loved him Joe Calzaghe, Muhammad Ali of course and you have to love Floyd Mayweather. The guy had an impeccable career and I know people are criticising him for these celebrity fights but he has proved himself in the sport. If he wants to go out and get paid for sparring sessions, then good on him he is a legend."
