Love Island star Paige Thorne's family make Twitter plea over Jacques

Paige Thorne's family have made a very public plea for her to be 'saved' from Jacques O'Neill, after being far from impressed by her actions towards her on Love Island.

Day one Islander Paige and late arrival Jacques, ex of Gemma Owen, were very much the bookies favourites to win this year for a spell just a week ago, but, after the way Jacques spoke to Paige on both Monday and Tuesday's episodes of the ITV2 show, their hopes of winnings have fallen away and viewers have started to question their relationships.

Fans aren't the only ones with serious reservations about Paige being with Jacques either. Whoever is running Paige's Twitter account while she is in the villa, couldn't bite their tongue as they watched the action unfold on Tuesday's much talked about Love Island.

The episode saw the contestants take part in the infamous heart rate challenge where the boys and girls had to perform raunchy dances for each other, before monitors showed who raised whose heart rate the most. The major findings from the task was that former flames Gemma and J acques each sparked the biggest reaction from each other, which upset Paige.

Having a chat with Jacques she bemoaned the fact that out all the girls it could have been it was his ex but, rather than gloss over that, Jacques, who looked annoyed at Paige being bothered, said it was probably because he'd 'been in that situation' with Gemma before. Viewers couldn't believe the words that came out of Jacques' mouth and, taking to Twitter, Love Island 2021 star Chloe Burrows exclaimed: "OH MY GOD JACQUES??? You could have lied???"

Her tweet was seized upon by the admin for Paige's Twitter, who shared the tweet on the Welsh paramedic's timeline and wrote: "Someone save my gal from this hell."

Jacques' admission about Gemma came just 24 hours after Love Island viewers saw him remark that Paige could "f**k off," after she decided to chat to Jay rather than go in the pool with him. And, responding to the post on Paige's Twitter, one follower commented: "Honestly though, she needs more than an apology!!! Wtaf was he thinking?! I had so much faith in him!!!"

A second reacted: "Jacques in the mud. Even Paige's family and friends don't want her with him. It definitely ain't working out."

Others said they had 'faith' in Jacques redeeming himself, especially after Paige picked him in Wednesday night's recoupling, but bookies now have Ekin-Su and Davide and Indiya and Dami as the top two couples in contention to win.
