Jacques O'Neill told Paige Thorne he was quitting Love Island to hopefully have a future with her off the show, as she decided to stay in the villa.
It was announced before Tuesday night's episode that Jacques had left Love Island, with an ITV statement reading: "Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa. He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques."
Prior to announcing his exit, Jacques was the centre of all the drama in the latest instalment after being told by ex Gemma Owen that new bombshell Adam Collard had been slagging him. He lost his cool over the thought of Adam branding him "immature," as Paige once again seemed upset by his behaviour.

After having a night to sleep on things, Jacques confided in Paige that he'd decided to walk from Love Island, saying: "You mean so much to me, you know that?"
He adds: "I just wish I could finish off my journey with you in here, but..." as tears began flow for both of them. Jacques then told Paige, who he's been in a couple with for nearly a month, that he had to leave as he wasn't enjoying himself anymore, but wanted a future with her.
The 23-year-old then told the Welsh paramedic that she should stay as she was still having a good time in the villa, before confirming to the lads that he wanted to go in order not to ruin things with her. However, at no point did it seem like Paige was ready to leave with him, despite her crying as he left.
Some viewers were confused that Paige didn't walk out with Jacques, after being with him for nearly a month, with one tweeting: "Can’t believe Jacques left confused why Paige didn’t leave with him tho?!" However, others had little sympathy for Jacques, having been far from impressed with his actions towards Paige in recent weeks. One critic blasted: "Jacques just pulled his biggest emotional manipulation move ever by leaving. Literally his last resort to stop Paige recouping since if she does she’ll feel guilty the entire time and the public opinion of her will decrease dramatically."
