Ikenna Ekwonna has claimed that Love Island contestants DO know who Gemma Owen's dad is and have done since the early days of the new series.
As soon as her name appeared on a list of confirmed contestants, viewers didn't need to do much digging to find out that her dad was none other than football icon Michael. And then as the first episode was shown on ITV2, viewers were left speculating if and when Gemma would come clean about her world famous parent.
She came very close to spilling the beans on camera, during a chat with love interest Luca Bish. He asked if he's get on with her dad, with her telling him that he was "into football and horses," while not actually mentioning him by name. Luca's very loaded question about Gemma's dad led to Love Island fans suggesting that Luca knew it was Michael Owen and now Ikenna has pretty much confirmed that, by the time that conversation took place, Luca was fully aware of that fact.

Appearing as a guest on Sunday night's Aftersun, after his exit from the villa last week, Ikenna said: "You know what's mad? We didn't really know until like the second or third day, but I don't think the girls knew that the guys knew."
His comment sparked a huge reaction online from people watching the show, with one taking to Twitter to comment: "So Ikenna mentioned the boys knew on like day 3 that Gemma was Michael Owen’s daughter. Luca, this why he had stuck himself to her like glue so he can live the high life with the family and mingle with the celebs."
Having also been sceptical, another tweeted: "So Ikenna revealed on After Sun that the boys all know that Gemma is Michael Owen’s daughter. Makes sense why Luca’s so obsessed," with a third reacting: "Ikenna just confirmed on Aftersun that the islanders have known that Gemma is Michael Owen’s daughter since day 3. This why Luca is going so hard."
