Love Island commentator Iain Stirling has tried to reassure Michael Owen regarding his daughter's appearance on this year's series.
Appearing on Friday's Lorraine live from Majorca, the 41-year-old Scottish star spoke to host Christine Lampard about what viewers can expect from the 2022 series.
As well as confirming an exclusive about fans being able to vote for the first couple, Iain promised that this year's show will be very sexy.
Christine then said: "Well there's one person that's not up for it Iain and that's Michael Owen, because his daughter Gemma's going in and apparently he's not happy."
Laughing, Iain replied: "I think he's got nothing to worry about man, it's fine. She seems like a wonderful girl, I'm sure she's gonna have a great time.
"I think he's gonna, and he knows it deep down inside, he's gonna end up a very proud dad, I guarantee it," the father-of-one added.
"Well having a great time is the worry isn't it?" Christine fired back, before adding: "That's the problem, but anyway, we shall see! Best of luck to Gemma!"
Iain's comments come after it was reported that former footballer Michael 'trusts' his daughter Gemma not to embarrass him during her time on the reality show.
The 19-year-old international dressage rider and business owner has admitted her famous father wasn't that happy that she had decided to enter the ITV2 series, which starts next Monday June 6 at 9pm.
However, she insists her dad Michael was "pretty chilled" about it in the end and very supportive of her, as she revealed he gave her some tips on how to deal with the instant rise to fame that the show usually creates for its contestants.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: "I still wouldn't say he was buzzing about the fact, but he is very supportive in whatever I decide to do so he didn't have a massive tantrum or anything like that. He was pretty chilled.
Also speaking of mum Louise, she said: "They trust me not to do anything to embarrass them, so I don't think I would have sex in the villa."
Gemma further commented: "[My dad] said, 'You know how to behave. You just go and do it'. My mum's bit of advice was, 'Gem, remember to keep it classy'."
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
