She may be the star of the juiciest reality dating show on television, but that doesn't mean Maya Jama has been spared from the embarrassing reality of the dating world. The 28-year-old Bristolian, who was announced as Laura Whitmore's replacement as the host of Love Island last autumn, is currently making her summer debut after strutting into the South Africa villa for the winter series in January.
Maya has been wowing fans and islanders alike with her showstopping wardrobe of glamorous outfits during each villa and Aftersun appearance, sending viewers into a frenzy with her stylish summer looks. The star is not believed to be in a relationship at the moment following her split from ex-fiancé, NBA star Ben Simmons, last summer.
Speaking of her past dating experience, Maya opened up about a shocking revelation she once made on a date. The star had popped to the bathroom when she realised there was something up with her appearance.
In an interview with The Sun, Maya revealed that she once sat through a date, not realising until some time later that she had a bogey on display. "When you go to the bathroom and you’ve a massive bogey and they’ve been smiling in your face the whole time," she reflected. That happened."

Aside from her former NBA player beau Ben, who she started dating in spring 2021 until their break up last summer, Maya was in a four-year relationship with rapper Stormzy The former couple became an item when they were both relatively unknown in the public eye, back in 2015.
Maya and Stormzy dated for four years, eventually splitting in 2019. The Vossi Bop rapper has been very vocal about their break up, telling Louis Theroux last year that he blamed himself for the split as he said losing Maya was the "biggest loss you can have".
"My break-up, that was probably the biggest catalyst for growth as a man. It was like, 'Okay, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you.
"That's probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn't it? Away from someone passing away, that's the biggest loss you can have."
Maya and Stormzy were rumoured to have rekindled their relationship in late 2022, after they were spotted at a number of the same events. Maya's team later denied such rumours, with the Love Island presenter then saying she was "really, really single".
Earlier this year, Maya addressed her relationship with Stormzy in an interview with The Sunday Times. "We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers," she reflected. "I don't think either of us knew it was going to be such a big thing."
