Love Island viewers were left in awe as Shaq Muhammad called out fellow contestant Ron Hall over his treatment of Lana Jenkins.
Ron, 25, originally coupled up with the blonde beauty on the first day of the ITV show, and despite being chosen by other girls in recoupling ceremonies, the two continued their romance. However, it hasn't been smooth sailing for the couple as Ron expressed interest in getting to know bombshell contestants Zara Lackenby-Brown, Ellie Spence and Samie Elishi.
Following Wednesday's dramatic recoupling and dumping ceremony, Aussie Aaron chose to couple up with Lana and threw shade at Ron's treatment of her during his speech. As it was boys' choice, Ron later recoupled with Tanyel in a friendship couple as Kai picked Samie to partner with.
The Islanders didn't have much time to relax following the evening, as new bombshells Casey and Jordan soon entered the villa and selected Lana and Tanyel to go on dates. As the boys were discussing their situations, it wasn't long before Ron got a reality check from Shaq over his treatment of the blonde beauty.
Ron was asked how he felt about Lana going on a date with someone else, and whilst he said it was fine the conversation soon turned sour as Shaq pressed him on whether he felt like he had done anything wrong. As they discussed it, Shaq took aim at Ron and called him out for his treatment of Lana.
"I don't agree with how you treated her, what you said and what you do is completely different things," he said, as Ron then added: "Are you saying you think I should have just gone with Lana and not explored things with anyone else?"
Shaq replied: "You said that Lana is your number one priority, but you've treated her life a safety net."
"All of you might think I treat her like my safety net, bro I know she could drop me like that," Ron said before Shaq concluded: "No she won't because she isn't attracted to anyone else here."
Viewers took to Twitter after the explosive scenes aired, and praised Shaq for holding Ron to account for his treatment of Lana. One ranted: "shaq, will & spencer putting ron in his place & defending lana is my favorite thing to come out of tonight’s episode. so much respect for those men, speaking up about what everyone else is thinking."
Another penned: "Every episode I watch I feel more and more bad for Lana. I love that Shaq has her best interest. Ron is most definitely treating her as a safety net and refuses to admit to it! Him and Tom go back and forth for being the biggest prick! #LoveIsland"
"Ron moves mad & I love to see my king Shaq calling him out on it because I hate a ~everyones thinking it but won't say what needs to be said~ crowd #loveisland," wrote a third. While another agreed: "Preach Shaq. Calling out Ron for his poor treatment of Lana is EVERYTHING. This is how humans should behave. Screw pack mentality. Call out negative behaviour and hold them to account. I’ll be replaying that speech to my son"
A fifth penned: "Shaq was spitting facts about Ron & his behaviour! #loveisland," as someone else echoed: "Loved Shaq calling Ron out for the way he has treated Lana and also it made some of the others also finally speak up. Unfortunately he still seems oblivious as to why his actions are unacceptable. I just really hope Lana moves on soon and forgets all about him. #LoveIsland"
Another vented: "Shaq calling out Ron for the way he's treated Lana is one of the single greatest things I've ever seen on #loveisland".
Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX tonight at 9pm.
