Love Island winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon have split up and fans of the show think they have worked out the reason why.
The couple had seemingly been going strong but on Wednesday, 25-year-old Millie posted a message to her followers on Instagram that revealed that her and Liam, 23, had gone their separate ways.
She shared a statement on her Instagram story in which she said: "Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Liam and I wanted to share with you that we have separated.
"It's been a tough decision and I am gutted but it's ultimately what is best for us right now. Thank you for every single one of you for supporting our relationship.
The statement continued: "Nothing will ever take away the amazing experience we have shared in Love Island & the past year and I wish Liam all the best in everything he does.
"We're both ready for new chapters and I'm excited for what's next."
Love Island fans believe that the current series may have triggered memories which opened old wounds that may have caused the couple to split.
Millie and Liam had a rough ride in the villa after Liam's head was 'turned' by Lillie Haynes, when they were in Casa Amor.
Despite being coupled up since the start of the show, Liam shared a kiss with Lillie while Millie remained loyal to him.
And now fans believe the Casa Amor week may have stirred up those memories and reminded Millie of the hurt it caused back then.
Taking to Twitter, one tweeted: "Millie and Liam breaking up just after Casa Amor showing her exactly what he did? Surely not a coincidence."
Another wrote: "Millie and Liam broke up? Yeah, that Casa Amor season opened some old wounds."
While a third was convinced: "Millie and Liam have broken up? I swear it was watching this year’s Casa Amor that did it."
After Millie had made the announcement, Liam also shared a statement on Instagram, in which he confirmed he was no longer in a relationship with Millie.
He wrote: "Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Millie and I wanted to share with you that we have sadly separated.
"Honestly so gutted. But thank you to everyone single one of you for supporting our relationship. Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience we shared in Love Island & the past year we've been so lucky to both come into each other's lives.
"We both will continue to be friends and I will remain Millie's biggest supporter in all that she does and I know she will also do amazing."
Liam concluded: "We're both ready for new chapters and I'm excited for what's next. Again I just want to thank you all for supporting us on what's been an incredible journey."
